24 Hours of Giving
One of the biggest challenges facing nonprofits is how to raise unrestricted revenue. As part of the United Way's Do More 24 campaign, an annual 24-hour fundraiser for nonprofits in the DC area, I developed in 2014 a creative campaign called "Dream Big" to help raise funds. By following a communications plan utilizing stories, photos, and graphics, tied to an editorial calendar of email and social media messages, the campaign distributed a steady stream of content to motivate funders, partners, and friends of LEDC to support the organization. Overall, the campaign raised more than $12,000 in 24 hours, winning its classification category for an extra $5,000.
